A dream is a private thing. Here is exactly what happens to one.

What is stored

The text of the dream, the time you logged it, and everything derived from it: the extracted structure, the readings, and the motif counts the long read is built on. It stays until you ask for it to be deleted.

Speaking a dream

When you dictate, your browser turns speech into text on your device and only the text reaches us. No audio is uploaded and no audio is stored. On a browser with no speech recognition of its own, the recording is sent to a transcription service, turned into text, and discarded — it is never written to disk here.

Who else sees it

The dream text is sent to Anthropic's API, which is what writes the readings. It is not used to train models. Nobody else receives it: the analytics on this site record counts, durations and which lens was opened — never a word of any dream.

Who you are to us

By default, nobody — a random id in a cookie on your device, no email, no password, no profile. That also means clearing your cookies loses your dreams, because there is nothing else tying them to you.

Getting it back, or gone

There is no self-serve export or delete button yet — saying so is more use to you than a promise. Until there is, email mack@bighead.club and your dreams will be sent to you or destroyed, whichever you asked for.
